Job Description

Join the Army National Guard as an Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist Army aircraft must be in peak condition inside and out to ensure readiness for any mission. As an Aircraft Structural Repair Specialist, you will be responsible for inspecting, servicing, and repairing structural components of both planes and helicopters to guarantee they are mission-ready for training, rescue, humanitarian, security, or combat operations. Key Responsibilities: Repair and replace aircraft structural components by following blueprints, directives, technical manuals, and safety procedures. Fabricate structural parts using advanced metal-forming techniques and fiberglass materials. Repair transparent plastic windows and enclosures on aircraft. Balance fixed-wing aircraft controls and apply primers and paints to surfaces as required. Maintain proper storage facilities for flammable and hazardous materials. Skills You'll Acquire: Engine disassembly and repair. Repairing aluminum, steel, and fiberglass airframes and coverings. Fixing hydraulic, fuel, and electrical systems. Useful Skills: Strong preference for mathematics and shop mechanics. Proficient in using hand and power tools. Through specialized training, you will gain the skills and experience that can lead to a rewarding civilian career with aircraft manufacturers, commercial airlines, and various government agencies. Compensation and Benefits: Instead of incurring costs to acquire these skills, you will be paid while you learn. In the Army National Guard, you will earn a regular paycheck and qualify for tuition assistance as you master valuable job skills. The training for Soldiers in the Aircraft Structural Repairer specialty entails 10 weeks of Basic Combat Training, followed by 15 weeks of Advanced Individual Training. This curriculum will teach you essential Soldiering skills while you refine your aircraft repair capabilities in both practical and classroom settings. Benefits: Paid training. A monthly paycheck.
