As a Senior Development Lead for Shopify, you will be a key player in driving all Shopify development activities and acting as the primary technical consultant. Responsibilities: Lead all Shopify development projects and serve as the technical point of contact. Scope and estimate project work by analyzing requirements and creating detailed breakdowns of tasks. Develop modular Online Store 2.0 sections and blocks in alignment with industry best practices. Implement custom homepage components including hero banners, promotional blocks, category tiles, product grids, and carousels. Ensure responsive design and functionality across mobile, tablet, and desktop devices. Deliver components and user experiences in compliance with WCAG 2.1 AA standards. Optimize overall performance through techniques like image optimization, lazy-loading, and enhancing Lighthouse scores. Conduct thorough QA across major browsers and devices before project handoff to the client. Engage with stakeholders during milestone meetings, code reviews, and UAT sessions. Create detailed technical documentation and admin guides for future reference. Develop clean, maintainable, and reusable code that integrates seamlessly with existing themes. Experience Requirements: 5+ years of professional experience in Shopify development. In-depth knowledge of Shopify Online Store 2.0 architecture, JSON templates, and theme customization. Strong expertise in Liquid, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3. Proven ability to translate UX designs from tools like Figma, Zeplin, or Sketch into Shopify implementations. Comprehensive understanding of theme editor configuration and block-based architecture. Proficient in creating WCAG 2.1 AA compliant components. Experience with performance optimization strategies. Background in consulting or contracting with strong client management and delivery skills. Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders. A portfolio showcasing Shopify homepage redesigns or complex component projects is preferred. Experience with video integration and media optimization in Shopify is a plus. Familiarity with GitHub workflows and version control best practices is preferred. Previous agency or consulting experience is preferred.
