Functions independently and consistently in the delivery of quality care to pediatric patients with hearing disability in accordance with individual patient needs, physician orders, department policies and procedures and standards of practice. Evaluates pediatric patients, plans and implements treatment programs (including prescribing and/or making recommendations for dispensing the most suitable hearing aid technology available in the market) and documents accurately. Coordinates treatment with other members of Rehab team (when appropriate) to ensure pediatric patient needs are met. Educates pediatric patients and families. Provides care to pediatric patients of varying ages with age-related needs. Work Experience: One year experience as an audiologist working in pediatric hospital setting preferred. License/Registration/Certification: Current Texas license, Certificate of Clinical Competence. Education and Training: Master of Science degree in Audiology, or equivalent education if trained outside of U.S. Skills: Knowledge of Audiology principles and procedures. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred. Good communication and interpersonal skills in view of frequent interaction with patients, staff and visitors. Good problem-solving ability to in order to determine the best methods to address patient problems.
