The DeFi Lending team leads the development of Coinbase's innovative lending solutions that allow users to earn competitive variable yields on their cash through our Smart Contract Wallet and DeFi protocols like Morpho on Base. In this critical role, you will help make cryptocurrency accessible to everyday people by showcasing how it can enhance traditional financial services. Your mission is to expand on-chain yields for millions of users globally while working collaboratively across multiple teams at Coinbase. Key Responsibilities: Take charge of the DeFi Lending product area, guiding it from concept to execution, launch, and ongoing improvements across both mobile and web platforms, facilitating the advancement of this innovative product. Work closely with Engineering and Design teams to develop and launch user-friendly non-custodial flows using Coinbase Smart Contract Wallets and Base, simplifying complex protocols for users during deposit, withdrawal, rewards accrual, and claim processes. Create product experiences that clearly explain DeFi risks and rewards to everyday users, helping them understand aspects like smart contract risks, bad debt, liquidity risks, and variable APYs for informed decision-making. Lead launch and rollout strategies that include internal testing, phased rollouts, global eligibility criteria, and coordinated go-to-market campaigns across email, in-app notifications, and external channels. Ensure high operational standards post-launch through effective monitoring, incident response protocols for issues like bad debt or liquidity events, and collaboration with our DeFi Borrow, Smart Wallet, and protocol partners. Qualifications: 5+ years of Product Management experience with a track record of delivering impactful consumer or prosumer financial products at scale. Experience with complex financial, lending, or yield-bearing products from either traditional or decentralized finance, balancing user experience, risk management, and business outcomes effectively. A strong understanding of technical systems and on-chain concepts to facilitate effective collaboration with engineers and protocol experts regarding smart contracts, vaults, and fund flows within L2 networks, such as Base. Proven ability to define and implement multi-quarter product strategies: creating clear narratives, translating them into actionable roadmaps, and achieving measurable growth and revenue outcomes. Strong analytical skills and product intuition: comprehensive comfort in assessing market opportunities, designing experiments, and analyzing both protocol and user behavior data to guide decision-making. A genuine passion for cryptocurrency, financial markets, and Coinbase's mission to foster global economic freedom. Preferred Qualifications: Direct experience with DeFi lending protocols (e.g., Morpho, Aave, Compound) or vault-based yield strategies, as either a builder or active user. Experience in creating crypto-centric consumer products utilizing on-chain features, such as smart contract wallets and L2s, to deliver benefits not offered by traditional finance. Familiarity with on-chain activities, including interacting with Ethereum/Base addresses, using ENS, and engaging with dApps or DeFi services via self-custodial wallets. Experience working alongside external protocol teams and risk management providers, with the ability to navigate token-based incentive structures and fee arrangements. Pay Transparency Notice: Depending on your work location, the target annualbasesalary for this position may range as outlined below. All full-time offers from Coinbase also include bonus eligibility, equity opportunities, and a comprehensive benefits package (including medical, dental, vision, and 401(k)).
