Description Assess individuals spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using comprehensive evaluations and observational methods. Create customized treatment plans designed to target their immediate and future communication, cognitive, or swallowing goals. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions with a focus on enhancing communication, fluency, voice, and swallowing functions. Partner with interdisciplinary teams, including physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, and physicians, to ensure coordinated care. Provide education to patients and their families, fostering a supportive environment that encourages progress even beyond therapy. Strong interpersonal communication skills - engaging with patients, families, and team members effectively. Flexibility to adapt therapy methods to cater to various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Capable of making sound clinical judgments and solving problems creatively. Proficient in electronic health records and adhering to proper documentation processes. Benefits Competitive salary that reflects your experience and expertise. A Journey That Enriches You - and Those You Serve In this role, your contribution will transcend traditional speech therapy as you engage in a community-driven mission to empower communication and foster connection. You will find yourself embraced by a caring team that sees each patient not just as an individual, but as part of a beautiful tapestry of stories and experiences that make up the rich fabric of Durham.
