Job Full Description We are seeking skilled and patient-focused Ophthalmic/Diagnostic Technicians to join our clinical team. The Ophthalmic Technician plays a vital role in supporting ophthalmologists by performing diagnostic tests, assisting with procedures, and preparing patients for exams. This position requires strong clinical knowledge, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care. Key Responsibilities Take and record the patient's medical and ocular history Measure visual acuity, intraocular pressure, and perform refractions Conduct diagnostic tests such as OCT, visual field testing, fundus photography, and corneal topography Administer eye drops and prepare patients for procedures Assist ophthalmologists during exams and minor procedures Maintain and calibrate ophthalmic instruments and equipment Educate patients on medications, post-operative care, and follow-up instructions Document findings and procedures accurately in the Electronic Health Record (EHR) Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use Support front office and administrative tasks as needed Required Skills & Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited ophthalmic technician program preferred 1+ years of experience in an ophthalmology or optometry setting Proficiency in ophthalmic testing and equipment Strong understanding of ocular anatomy, diseases, and treatments Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment Familiarity with EHR systems and medical documentation Commitment to patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance Preferred Qualifications Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA), Certified Ophthalmic Technician (COT), or Certified Ophthalmic Medical Technologist (COMT) Experience in subspecialties such as retina, glaucoma, or pediatrics CPR certification and knowledge of emergency protocols What We Offer Competitive compensation based on experience and certification Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Opportunities for continuing education and professional growth Supportive and team-oriented work environment Exposure to cutting-edge ophthalmic technologies and treatments #3264OS Boca Raton, FL 3264 15127 Jog Road Suite 212 Delray Beach, FL 33446
