The Cloud Platform and Services team plays a vital role in developing and maintaining cloud infrastructure and platform services within the Video and Software division. We utilize Azure, AWS, and GCP to provide dependable communication and operational intelligence solutions globally. Role Overview: Innovation and Development: Create impactful platform services for our SaaS offerings. Continuous Improvement: Design and implement efficient CI/CD pipelines using DevOps best practices. Reliability Engineering: Utilize Site Reliability Engineering practices to monitor and improve service health. Global Support: Ensure secure and reliable deployments on a worldwide scale. Key Responsibilities: Expertise: Develop a deep understanding of tools such as Prometheus, Thanos, Grafana, Elasticsearch, and Kibana. Solution Design: Define, design, and implement innovative solutions using Elastic and Prometheus stacks on Kubernetes. Cluster Management: Effectively manage large-scale Elasticsearch and Prometheus clusters. Automation Focus: Enhance developer productivity through automation and streamlined processes. On-call Support: Participate in on-call shifts for the services developed by our team. Team Leadership: Lead by example in daily stand-ups with global team members. Qualifications: 3+ years of professional software engineering experience focusing on platform engineering. Strong familiarity with Prometheus and Elasticsearch. U.S. Citizenship and Residency is required along with the ability to pass necessary background checks. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with Linux/Unix Administration. Ability to manage Elasticsearch or Prometheus clusters. Previous experience in on-call roles for team-developed services. Proven experience deploying services on cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP). Key Skills: Proficiency in Helm, Kubernetes, and Docker. Knowledge of Infrastructure and Configuration as Code. Solid CI/CD capabilities. Experience in Linux Administration and Shell Scripting. Familiarity with Java 21+, Spring Boot, Go, or Python. Version control experience with Git. Able to collaborate with third-party vendors and contribute to open-source initiatives. Skills in vulnerability analysis. Additional Skills: Familiarity with event streaming platforms such as Kafka or AWS Kinesis. Expertise in IAM through Azure Active Directory, AWS IAM, or GCP IAM. Mastery of GitHub Actions. This position requires work in high-security areas governed by the U.S. Department of Justice's CJIS Security Policy, necessitating the ability to pass a stringent fingerprint background check. U.S. citizenship is mandatory. Office Location: Candidates must be present in the office once a week at one of the following locations: Allen, TX; Salt Lake City, UT; or Schaumburg, IL. Salary: The target base salary range is $85,000 - $100,000 USD, depending on experience and qualifications.
