Overview: This is a part-time position. Must be able to work a flexible schedule that may include both day and evening shifts and weekends. As a Community Support Professional, you will empower individuals with developmental disabilities to live meaningful, connected, and fulfilling lives. Through direct support, community engagement, and person-centered care, you will foster independence, promote inclusion, and ensure safety and dignity in all environments. Commitment to inclusion, dignity, and person-centered support aligned with Everyday Lives principles. What You'll Have: High School Diploma or equivalent (required). One year of direct care experience supporting individuals with developmental disabilities (preferred). Valid driver's license and insurability. CPR/First Aid certification (maintained). Medication Administration certification, if designated by the program. Required clearances: Act 33 & 34, plus FBI clearance if applicable. Physical exam and TB test maintained per regulations. For enhanced Community Participation Support services: relevant degree or certification per service definitions. A Typical Day May Include: Implementing each individual's Individual Support Plan (ISP) and providing support based on identified staffing ratios. Promoting independence, autonomy, and choice in daily living and community participation. Assisting individuals with personal care needs such as feeding, hygiene, toileting, and transferring. Monitoring dietary needs and supporting individuals during mealtimes. Planning and facilitating community outings, volunteer opportunities, and meaningful daily activities. Supporting vocational goals, career exploration, and employment-first initiatives. Utilizing communication strategies tailored to each individual and following Communication Plans. Implementing behavioral support plans and completing Record of Behavioral Event forms, when required. Ensuring health and safety across all environments; completing Change of Health forms when appropriate. Following all traffic laws while driving for work and immediately reporting any vehicle accidents after ensuring safety. Administering medications if certified and reporting any medication errors immediately. Maintaining accurate documentation including health logs, day service notes, communication logs, and productivity records. Participating in team meetings and contributing to ongoing ISP planning and assessments. Communicating relevant updates to supervisors and team members. Assisting with new staff training and supporting prospective employees during site visits. Keeping work areas clean, organized, and well-maintained and reporting supply or repair needs. Representing the Barber National Institute professionally to families, stakeholders, and community partners.
