Project Leader Electrical Utility I or SRLocation: Texas City, TX, United StatesJob ID: 6089385Date Posted:Jan 30, 2026POSTING DEADLINEThis position is posted until filled.JOB DESCRIPTIONSalary Grade: G07Minimum Midpoint Maximum$73,060 - $96,804 - $120,548Project Leader Utility Construction and Maintenance (Electrical Utility)SUMMARY:Under general supervision, completes utility construction and maintenance projects in a timely and efficient manner for PNM management and our customers.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Oversees projects that consist of residential, smaller subdivisions, commercial, and minor system improvements, to include the design review, cost estimate approval, and work activity monitoring, may include streetlights and gas mainline coordination; projects can normally be completed working independently, based on established policies, procedures, and guidelines with assistance from senior level or managerMonitors field work for compliance and completenessConsults with team to identify and resolve issues that require direct customer involvement on inquiries, right-of-way, complaints, tree trim requests, and damagesPresents projects and participates in capital management processCommunicates and coordinates job requirements to customers, team members, Gas Engineering, and others outside the team as necessaryParticipates in project scheduling, and assigns job priorities in order to meet company and/or customer requirementsProvides training and technical assistance in their area of expertiseInitiates and administers line extension contractsDirects the work of others assigned to their projectCoordinates gas and/or electric transmission projects or the tie-in between distribution and transmission projectsProvides input on a variety of contracts for projects, professional services, materials, and equipmentMay negotiate and manage a variety of contracts for projects, professional services, materials, and equipmentReviews measurements and makes adjustments to the process to achieve team goalsAssists in achieving team goals and objectivesMay occasionally assume the role of Team ManagerCOMPETENCIES:Knowledge is required in gas or electric theory, design, and construction of systems, with general knowledge in the other utilityAbility to promote first-class public relations with customers, businesses, outside agencies, and community leaders.
