We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Engineer - Joint and Adjacent Development to support and manage joint development, reimbursable, and adjacent construction projects within the Authority. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, reviewing, and overseeing construction activities performed by Owners, Developers, and Contractors (ODC) to ensure protection of Authority facilities and compliance with established standards. The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise, project management experience, and the ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders. Key Responsibilities • Review and analyze construction plans and documents for proximity and impact to Authority facilities. • Retrieve and evaluate as-built documentation using internal databases and mapping systems. • Prepare Impact Evaluation Forms and provide coordination guidance to external project teams. • Lead design review meetings and coordinate multidisciplinary subject matter expert (SME) reviews. • Provide guidance on design criteria, standards, specifications, and compliance requirements. • Develop time and cost estimates for Authority support services. • Prepare letters of agreement, MOUs, funding invoices, and related documentation. • Coordinate contractor badging and Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) training requirements. • Facilitate site visits, surveys, and Site Specific Work Plan (SSWP) approvals. • Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance and minimize operational impacts. • Enter track rights, prepare Switching Orders, and arrange necessary crew support. • Attend project progress meetings and resolve construction-related issues. • Maintain accurate financial tracking, project documentation, and weekly activity reports. • Ensure proper project closeout, including as-builts, warranties, surveys, and financial reconciliation. Required Qualifications Education • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field OR • High School Diploma/GED with four (4) years of construction field or management experience Experience • Minimum seven (7) years of construction field or project management experience • Experience reviewing and managing development or adjacent construction projects • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders and technical disciplines Required Certification • Roadway Worker Protection (RWP) Level 2 certification within three (3) months of hire Knowledge, Skills and Abilities • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Ability to analyze technical drawings and contract documents • Strong project planning, organization, and time management skills • Ability to identify project risks and implement mitigation strategies • Effective problem-solving and root-cause analysis skills • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Preferred Qualifications • Experience with transit-oriented development or infrastructure projects • Familiarity with GIS platforms, construction document management systems, and mapping tools • Experience working in rail or transportation environments Compensation and Benefits • Competitive compensation and benefits package, including: o Medical, dental, and vision insurance o Short-term and long-term disability o Life/AD&D insurance o 401(k) retirement plan o Paid time off • Excellent career growth opportunities.
