We are Preferred Hospice and we want YOU to be a part of our volunteer program while you finish school and beyond! Our families are on a special journey with their loved ones and just need a break sometimes. The volunteer role looks like this: Sitting with our patients. Getting to know them. Comforting them. Engaging with our precious patients through conversation, activities they love, reading to them, showing real interest in them, validating them and loving on them. Documenting each visit with a patient or in the office. Communication with the Volunteer Coordinator NO experience necessary! Your mileage is paid at .53 cents a mile! Things that are a must: Passing our background checks Passing our drug screen Yearly TB tests Short orientation to get you up to speed and do the paperwork (And we can be flexible to help you get everything accomplished, so you are up and running!)
