Job Description

We are looking for a Head of Training & Development who will partner closely with Field Services Operations, Engineering, Safety, Quality, and HR to translate real-world technical requirements into structured programs. They lead a small but high-performing team, including a Training Coordinator, Training Specialist, and Instructional Designer who support scheduling, logistics, learner support, and content production. What You'll Do: Build, lead, and develop a Training & Development team. Create the operational foundation for an integrated, enterprise-wide training function. Partner with technical leaders across the business to prioritize training needs and build structured development programs. Establish the training governance model: standards, processes, templates, documentation, version control, and quality expectations. Manage the team that oversees scheduling, planning, and logistics for the Orlando training center. Ensure training programs from new hire training to advanced development pathways are well-organized, consistent, and aligned with business needs. Lead the rollout of cross-functional training programs for all divisions. Support the development of hands-on labs, simulations, and assessments by coordinating with internal SMEs. Provide executives with clear reporting on training impact, readiness metrics, and workforce development progress. Continuously evaluate new training tools and technologies (LMS, simulations, VR/AR, etc.). The Experience We're Looking For: Proven experience building or scaling a Training & Development function or department. Experience leading teams and developing people. Strong project management skills and the ability to bring structure, clarity, and organization to complex work. Demonstrated success partnering with technical subject matter experts to translate expertise into training programs. Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder-management skills. Ability to create processes, templates, governance models, and operational systems for a new or evolving training function. Additional Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical Technology, Industrial Technology, or related field (or equivalent field experience). Ability to travel up to 10% throughout the continental USA, reflecting flexibility and commitment to project needs. Ability to pass a stringent drug screening and background check, ensuring compliance with organizational standards and policies. Hold a valid and current driver's license. Bonus Points for: NETA, OSHA, or industry certifications. Experience in a NETA shop, utility, or industrial electrical contractor environment.
