Unleash Communication Possibilities in the Lively District of Florida - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with UsOverview Your next career choice could resonate with profound purpose - transforming lives through communication! As a Speech Language Pathologist in one of Florida's bustling communities, your role transcends merely addressing communication and swallowing challenges. You will unlock hidden potential, bolster self-esteem, and foster meaningful connections across the spectrum of life - from infants discovering their initial sounds to elders striving to regain their autonomy. This unique position allows you to engage with a diverse patient base across all age groups, in a setting that artfully merges outpatient therapy with occasional inpatient responsibilities. Whether your expertise lies in nurturing young minds through speech development, rehabilitating adults with neurogenic communication issues, or aiding seniors with cognitive-linguistic recovery, you will find ample fulfillment and flexibility here. Description Assess individuals from pediatric to geriatric demographics utilizing both established assessments and observational methods. Create individualized treatment strategies that focus on immediate objectives as well as ongoing communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements. Deliver personalized therapy interventions targeting communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing issues. Engage in teamwork with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and families to foster a coordinated approach to care. Provide educational resources for patients and families to enhance overall progress beyond clinical sessions. Participate in sporadic inpatient evaluations and interventions to maintain a consistent treatment thread throughout care. Ensure thorough and timely documentation that meets state, federal, and organizational requirements. Remain updated on advancements in the field through continuous learning and collaboration with peers. Education A Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if ASHA certification is not yet obtained. Certifications A valid state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of hire. Skills Proficient in evidence-informed therapeutic strategies for all age groups, with a robust comprehension of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing challenges. Exceptional interpersonal communication abilities involving patients, families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Capability to customize therapy approaches to accommodate various cultural and linguistic needs. Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving skills. Skilled in utilizing electronic medical records and adhering to documentation standards. Benefits Competitive salary reflective of experience. Flexible scheduling promoting work-life harmony and diverse caseloads. Specialization opportunities in pediatric, adult neuro rehabilitation, or geriatric care. Paid time off (PTO) along with holiday compensation. Options for medical, dental, vision, and life insurance. Support for continuing education reimbursement and professional growth. A welcoming, collaborative environment centered on premium care and lifelong learning. A Career That Propels You Forward Here, your contributions won't merely mean delivering speech therapy; you'll become an integral part of a community-oriented mission. A mission that focuses on reviving voices, enhancing communication, and creating beautiful moments characterized by simple yet profound human interactions: truly understanding and being understood. You will collaborate with colleagues who share family-like bonds, in an atmosphere that champions teamwork over rivalry. Each patient holds a unique narrative, and we trust you to guide how that story unfolds.
