This role involves assessing, implementing, and evaluating nursing care for acutely ill patients, utilizing critical thinking and sound judgment in line with established policies and protocols. Job Summary The Registered Nurse (RN) delivers professional, compassionate care, administering medications and treatments, collaborating with physicians and healthcare team members to ensure continuity and excellence of care. Responsibilities include accurate documentation, patient-specific care planning within 24 hours of admission, and adherence to legal and ethical standards. Key Responsibilities Administer medications and treatments following approved nursing techniques and education. Provide timely, accurate information to healthcare providers to support patient care. Document patient care activities including medications, vital signs, and intake/output meticulously. Develop individualized care plans for inpatients promptly. Maintain fiscal responsibility in supply and pharmacy usage. Deliver direct patient care according to established standards and legal requirements. Participate in orientation, staff meetings, and ongoing training to foster teamwork and professional growth. Engage in special projects and additional duties as assigned. Education and Experience Graduation from an accredited nursing school is required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing is preferred. At least one year of RN experience in an acute care setting is preferred. Recent telemetry or cardiac nursing experience of one year or more is preferred. Licenses and Certifications Current, unrestricted nursing license in Washington State. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification. Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Skills and Abilities Strong knowledge of nursing procedures and patient care principles. Ability to apply age-specific growth and development principles to meet patient needs. Commitment to patient privacy and confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA. Effective organizational and prioritization skills within a nursing unit. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. Proficiency with technology including electronic medical records and Microsoft Office. Physical Requirements Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, standing, walking, bending, and reaching as required by patient care duties. Work Environment This is a part-time, PRN position with 12-hour shifts in a 40-hour work week.
