Nurse Manager - Emergency Department Baltimore, Maryland Full TimeManager - Patient Care Services (RN / Registered Nurse) - Emergency Department Newly Renovated Emergency Department | Baltimore, MD The Nurse Manager is responsible for ensuring safe, age-appropriate patient care is provided during unit operations. This role serves as a role model, advisor, resource, and leader for the patient care team. Key Responsibilities • Ensure safe and effective delivery of emergency and trauma-level patient care. • Serve as clinical and operational leader for assigned emergency services team(s). • Ensure staff competencies, compliance, and unit-based standards are completed and maintained. • Monitor monthly operating expense performance aligned to annual budget and targets including: o Operating budget o Productivity standards o Overtime utilization o Premium pay standards • Communicate and collaborate across interdisciplinary teams to promote inclusion and belonging. • Ensure appropriate hiring and provide welcoming onboarding/support for new hires. • Champion patient experience with a relationship-focused approach. • Ensure accurate payroll/pay practices to meet department and business needs. • Manage performance and development of individuals and teams; direct, assign, review work. • Support disciplinary actions up to and including termination as required. • Maintain stewardship of organizational resources. • Support evidence-based practice, quality improvement, and patient experience initiatives. Required Qualifications (Must-Haves) • BSN from a CCNE accredited School of Nursing (required) • Maryland Registered Nurse (RN) license (MBON RN License) (required) • American Heart Association BLS Certification (required) • ACLS (required per unit guideline) • PALS (required per unit guideline) • Emergency Department / ER nursing experience (required) • Strong leadership skills to manage performance, coaching, staffing, and compliance Preferred Qualifications (Nice-To-Haves) • Advanced degree preferred: o MSN / MS / MA / MHA / MBA • 5 years progressive ER nursing experience preferred, with progression into supervisory responsibilities • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) per unit guideline • National Certification preferred (within 1 year of hire) Core Skills • Emergency Department Nursing Leadership • Level II Trauma exposure (preferred/plus) • Budgeting & productivity management • Staffing, scheduling, and performance management • Patient safety / National Patient Safety Goals adherence • Evidence-based practice (EBP) & quality improvement • Interdisciplinary collaboration and team leadership • Strong communication and patient experience focus Recruiter Submission Template - Full Name: Degree Major with University and Completion Year: Do you have BSN from CCNE accredited Nursing School?
