Job Description Position Summary The clinical coordinator practices in the framework of the mission, vision and values of ECU Health Medical Center. Under the direction of the Program Manager, the coordinator is the clinical leader with focus on producing excellent patient outcomes, patient and family engagement, workforce management/development and clinical efficiency. This position acts as a liaison between patients, family, staff and physicians. Responsibilities Produces excellent patient outcomes Alongside the PAS Manager and the Executive Director, Cancer Center, the Clinical coordinator develops and implements an effective ongoing program to measure, assess and improve the referral intake process within the Cancer Center at the ECU Health Medical Center. Trends referral volumes, time to process, time to appointment and other program outcomes and leads improvements efforts based on data. Builds staff accountability for the adoption of best practices and evidence-based protocols. Assures that we deliver care according to the ECU Health standard. Helps lead the oncology referral intake specialist team by: prioritizing referrals by clinical need, assessing individual referral readiness for clinic appointment and identifying/escalating barriers to progression towards clinic appointments Interprets policies and procedures for staff members and facilitates needed changes in policies, procedures and protocols. Minimum Requirements BSN required, may substitute 5+ years of progressive nursing experience, or pertinent professional certification - or higher. RN license in NC is required. BSN preferred. Relevant Certification preferred. Three to five years of clinical experience in nursing, one year of which is in the clinical subspecialty required.
