Job Description

Enhance Communication Across Generations in New England - Become a Speech Language Pathologist with UsOverview What if your next career adventure empowered individuals to communicate more effectively? As a Speech Language Pathologist in the historic charm of Worcester, Massachusetts, your role transcends just treating speech and swallowing disorders. You'll unlock possibilities, restore self-assurance, and foster connections - from children discovering their voices to older adults regaining their independence. This position presents a remarkable opportunity to impact diverse populations throughout various life stages within a setting that combines outpatient therapy with the occasional need for inpatient care. Whether your expertise lies in pediatric speech development, addressing communication challenges in adults with neurological conditions, or supporting cognitive rehabilitation in elderly patients, you will find satisfaction and flexibility in your work here. Role Responsibilities Conduct thorough patient evaluations across pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a mix of standardized tests and observation methods. Create customized treatment strategies that focus on immediate goals as well as long-term communication, cognitive, and swallowing aspirations. Engage in one-on-one speech therapy sessions dedicated to enhancing communication, language abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing skills. Collaborate effectively with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and family members to design cohesive treatment approaches. Provide education to patients and their families, equipping them with tools for progress outside of therapy sessions. Assist with occasional inpatient speech therapy evaluations and treatments, ensuring smooth transitions in care throughout the recovery process. Document patient interactions and progress in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations. Commit to ongoing professional development by staying updated on innovations in the field through continued education and collaboration with peers. Qualifications Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a recognized institution. Completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not currently ASHA-certified. Certifications State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is highly preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification should be obtained within the first month of employment. Desired Skills Expertise in evidence-based therapeutic techniques for patients of all ages, combined with a deep understanding of various speech, language, and swallowing disorders. Exceptional interpersonal skills that promote positive communication with patients, their families, and multidisciplinary care teams. Adeptness at tailoring therapy techniques to accommodate various cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Strong clinical judgment complemented by adept problem-solving skills. Familiarity with electronic health records and compliance documentation requirements. Perks & Benefits Attractive pay reflective of your experience. Flexible schedules fostering work-life harmony alongside varied client caseloads. Paths to specialize in pediatrics, adult neurologic rehabilitation, or geriatrics. Generous paid time off (PTO) and holiday compensation. Insurance options including medical, dental, vision, and life coverage. Continuing education funding and support for professional advancement. A collegial, team-centric atmosphere focused on quality care and ongoing learning. A Career That Progresses with You - and Inspires You In this role, you'll do more than conduct speech therapy; you will join a proactive community that aims to restore voices, enhance conversations, and build joyful moments through simple yet profound human interactions: comprehending and being grasped. Here, you'll collaborate with fellow professionals who consider each other family, within an environment that emphasizes teamwork over rivalry. Every patient has a unique narrative; your expertise will help transform their story. Why You'll Flourish Living and Working Here Life in Worcester revolves around an eclectic mix of historical richness and modern vibrancy. Settled along the banks of the Blackstone River, the city is a haven for those seeking a perfect blend of cultural depth and exciting opportunities. Families relish in community parks bursting with activities and events, while outdoor enthusiasts take advantage of recreational areas for trails, parks, and serene lakes. Culinary delights abound, with everything from local diners serving hearty meals to trendy eateries offering a twist on beloved classics. The area boasts a creative scene that resonates through every corner, evident in its galleries, music venues, and various local festivals that unite diverse communities. For professionals, the journey is far more than just a job - the absence of a state income tax, reasonable living expenses, and a flourishing healthcare network provide a fertile ground for your career to take flight. As a newcomer or a seasoned expert, you will discover vast opportunities to develop both personally and professionally. Who We're Eager to Welcome We're on the lookout for a Speech Language Pathologist motivated not just by results but also by empathy. Someone who sees potential in a child hesitant to speak and envisions a future full of expression; who hears the hesitant utterances of a patient recovering from a stroke and hears their determination to improve. You may be a specialist in pediatrics interested in expanding into adult practices - or an experienced neuro clinician eager to integrate early intervention into your methodology. No matter your focus, if you are ready to serve others with compassion and lead with expertise, we invite you to join us. Let's Align Our Visions - Together If you recognize that speech transcends mere sounds and therapy extends beyond checklists - if you value building trust as foundational to achieving goals and recognize laughter as a part of the healing journey - then this may very well be the next rewarding chapter in your professional journey. Join us in a community that values communication, connection, and the bravery it takes to initiate a new beginning. Apply today to add your voice to our mission - and assist others in finding theirs.
