Code Development and Testing Engineer

Description The Decision Advantage Business Area at Leidos is seeking a skilled Code Development and Testing Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will support the Department of the Air Force (DAF) in fielding and operating digital infrastructure. Your expertise will be integral to the day-to-day operations and strategic development of complex systems within our Digital Infrastructure Network Integration Lab (DI-NIL). Below are the key responsibilities and qualifications for this role: Primary Responsibilities: Maintain the DI-NIL architecture and services, providing support for various systems, including RHEL, Windows, and integrating with Active Directory for authentication. Manage and review system architecture, ensuring compliance with established configurations. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and 8+ years of relevant experience or a master's degree and 6+ years of relevant experience. Additional years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Proven knowledge of coding concepts relevant to Department of Defense programs. Experience participating in design reviews and providing customer-focused input. Strong communication skills to collaborate with diverse teams, including customers and domain experts. Ability to engage in cross-functional planning and coordination for system integration activities. Familiarity with basic networking principles and the capability to adjust code for enterprise operations. Mid-level understanding of government systems security testing, including ACAS/Nessus. Ability to present technical and non-technical information effectively to various audiences. Preferred Qualifications: Four years of DoD-based system security testing experience and knowledge of remediation strategies. Experience in designing and deploying networks. Familiarity with SAFe Agile methodologies. Experience using Agile tools such as Jira and Confluence. Previous engagement with Department of the Air Force programs. Knowledge of Cloud and Edge Computing design and validation. Understanding of test automation and test result analysis. Experience in validating network topologies for functionality and performance. Expertise in creating test methodologies and writing specifications. Background in integration, testing, verification, and validation processes.
