We are a small specialty commercial refrigeration and mechanical service company that has recently moved to Antioch near Costco. Since 2002 we have specialized in the maintenance and repair of specialized chillers and cooling equipment, HVAC systems, and related mechanical equipment for the medical field. The position; We are seeking a team member to help with office support and some accounting on-site. Things are a little out of control here and we need help to reel things back in and keep 'em under control. If you are meticulous, curious, enjoy creating order, supporting meaningful work, and performing a variety of different tasks, have the patience and wherewithal to keep yourself busy while virtual fires are being put out or your ADHD supervisor is simply trying to reel her brain back in, if you relish the thought of playing with our large "mascot" Boxer mix dog or a foster dog while on your break and if you prefer to work with a smaller company then this may be the right place for you. The position is full time, 5 days per week, 35 hours weekly to start, possibly requiring 40 hours weekly during the summer when we are very busy. You will work under full-time Office Manager/Staff Accountant and our Service Manager as well as assist our part-time bookkeeper. This position will start off with more general office and lighter accounting duties but we need someone with an interest/background in accounting to share more accounting duties as time goes by. Experience with Word, Excel, and Quickbooks or similar accounting program a must. 10 key by touch or willingness to learn a must. Knowledge of AI, human resource management and job costing a definite plus. Duties to start include receiving, purchasing and inventory duties, support with document creation, Service Order preparation for our technicians, updating and maintaining records for equipment we have worked on, reviewing employee timesheets for payroll, filing, supporting our service technicians with information and parts/supplies needed for both scheduled and emergency work, and assistance with conversion to a work order program. Occasional errands, so clean driving record is a must. Accounting duties to include coding/costing receipts, tracking fixed assets, account reconciliations and analysis, assisting with Invoicing, posting accounts payable and receivables (no collections). Duties over time will progress to having the ability to cover Office Manager or Bookkeeper during absences/time off. We can offer a flexible work schedule within the hours of 7:30 am -6:00 p.m., M-F framework at our office/shop with more flexibility after approximately 60-90 days. There is not a work from home option with this position. Pay range $20 - $30/hr depending on experience, skills and relevant education.
