Job Details Location: Waterville, Maine (04901) - Waterville, ME; central Maine healthcare opportunity Position: Travel Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) - Inpatient Hospital / Acute Care Setting: Hospital (inpatient acute care) Contract Type: Travel Start Date: March 30, 2026 End Date: June 27, 2026 Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 8:00 AM - 4:30 PM (8 Hour Days) Hours per Week: 40 Guaranteed Hours: 30 Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,150 - $2,310 per week Job Requirements Active Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) certification or state licensure (required) At least 1 year of experience as an SLP (hospital/acute care experience preferred) Ability to work on-site in an inpatient hospital setting Strong communication, clinical decision-making, and interpersonal skills Commitment to delivering high-quality patient care and evidence-based speech therapy Preferred: experience with dysphagia management, instrumental evaluations (MBSS/FEES), and inpatient documentation Responsibilities Evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing (dysphagia) disorders Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and measurable goals for patients Provide inpatient speech therapy and dysphagia care across the hospital acute care setting Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes Conduct and document clinical assessments and progress notes in the medical record Educate patients, families, and care teams on treatment plans, compensatory strategies, and discharge recommendations This position is ideal for SLPs seeking travel SLP opportunities, hospital SLP roles, or Maine SLP jobs.
