Job Description

Civil Engineer - Land Development / Site Design The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience delivering land development projects and the ability to manage multiple project components in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities Design and prepare site development plans including grading, drainage, roadway, and utility layouts Perform stormwater management system design, hydrologic and hydraulic calculations, and related modeling Design erosion and sediment control measures in accordance with local and state regulations Develop utility plans including sanitary sewer, water distribution, and storm systems Prepare engineering reports, calculations, and opinions of probable cost Research, interpret, and apply local zoning, subdivision, land development, and stormwater ordinances Coordinate permitting with local, state, and federal agencies Prepare and submit permit applications (e.g., NPDES, floodplain, utility, and related development permits) Provide construction phase services including responding to RFIs, reviewing shop drawings, site visits, and preparing record/as-built drawings Collaborate with internal project teams and external stakeholders to maintain project schedules and budgets Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related field Professional Engineer (PE) license required (or ability to obtain within a defined timeframe, if applicable) Demonstrated experience in land development and site design projects Strong working knowledge of grading, drainage, stormwater management, and utility design Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D Experience with hydrologic/hydraulic modeling software (e.g., Hydraflow or similar tools) Solid understanding of permitting processes and regulatory coordination Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively Preferred Experience 3+ years of experience in civil/site land development (senior-level candidates welcome) Experience coordinating with municipalities and regulatory agencies Construction administration and field observation experience Skills & Competencies Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills Effective written and verbal communication Ability to work independently and within a collaborative team environment Strong time management and prioritization skills Position Details Full-time position (40 hours per week) Monday-Friday, standard business hours (project demands may vary) In-office position with occasional site visits Compensation commensurate with experience
