Job Description

Join Dentons US LLP as a Legal Conflicts Specialist. In this remote role, you will provide essential support to all levels of our firm while playing a key role in analyzing and addressing conflicts related to the firm's acceptance of new clients and matters. Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough and prompt analyses of all new business to detect potential legal and business conflicts of interest. Utilize both internal and external databases to examine conflicts of interest reports concerning existing and prospective clients. Assist in resolving potential conflict issues across the firm. Provide guidance on necessary waivers and aid in drafting waivers, engagement letters, and other documentation for Partner review and client submission. Proactively communicate with department leadership regarding complex conflict situations and compliance matters. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all conflict resolutions, ensuring the integrity of the database and facilitating future conflict identifications. Investigate and correct any erroneous or outdated information in conflict reports to maintain the accuracy of the firm's conflict databases. Perform ongoing or ad hoc duties as required to meet the needs of the position. Additional tasks may be assigned to ensure comprehensive support within the role. Qualifications and Experience The ideal candidate should hold a JD degree and be licensed to practice law, with a minimum of 2 years’ experience managing conflicts within a law firm. Exceptional oral and written communication skills are a must. Proven ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues at all levels. Strong analytical, interpersonal, and organizational skills are essential. A methodical approach with a keen focus on accuracy, attention to detail, consistency, and quality is critical. Demonstrated ability to negotiate and influence colleagues towards successful outcomes. Proficiency in legal research and a commitment to staying informed about ethics and conflict best practices is necessary. Able to manage tight deadlines and adapt to changing demands, prioritizing tasks effectively and following through on outstanding issues. Proven ability to make sound recommendations to resolve issues, aligned with legal standards and firm policies. Familiarity with Intapp conflict checking, ethical wall software, and business intake systems is a plus.
