Job Summary We are excited to welcome an experienced registered nurse to our Emergency Department Admission Holds team! Our dynamic Emergency Department at Memorial Hermann, a level 1 trauma center, an academic/teaching facility, and a Magnet-designated hospital, is situated within the prestigious Texas Medical Center. Join our collaborative team in a spacious ED environment, providing care for adult medical/surgical and Intermediate Medical Unit (IMU) patients who are waiting for their inpatient bed assignments across various service lines. Our focus is on maintaining quality and innovation, ensuring patient safety and satisfaction, and promoting employee engagement and growth. Ideal Candidate: BSN RN with 2+ years of experience caring for IMU acuity patients or relevant Med/Surg experience OR direct ED Admission Holds experience. Shift: Days, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Location differential is available for this position. We offer a competitive salary and generous paid time off (PTO) accrual. You will collaborate with a multidisciplinary team in delivering patient care while utilizing the nursing process. This includes conducting nursing assessments, assisting with examinations and treatments, educating patients, and managing medical records. Memorial Hermann Health System hires RNs based on years of experience groupings (newly licensed RN under supervision, less than 1 year, 1-3 years, 3-10 years, and 10+ years). Minimum Qualifications Education: Graduate of an accredited School of Professional Nursing; Bachelor of Nursing preferred. Licenses/Certifications: Current State of Texas license or temporary/compact license to practice professional nursing. Certified in Basic Life Support. Additional certifications may be required based on specific discipline and/or nursing unit requirements. Experience/Knowledge/Skills: RN I RN II = 1-3 years RN III = 3-10 years RN IV = 10+ years Effective oral and written communication skills. Principal Accountabilities Deliver safe and appropriate nursing care to patients based on the nursing skills inventory and the specific needs of the patient population served. Coordinate nursing care planning with an interdisciplinary team and make informed clinical decisions in patient care delivery. Collaborate with and guide the healthcare team to achieve positive patient outcomes based on data, research, evidence, and professional standards of care. Coordinate treatment plans and develop/implement discharge and/or transfer plans. Engage in systemic, interdisciplinary evaluations of programs, processes, and outcomes to improve client-centered care. Consider the diverse needs of every patient throughout the continuum of care while ensuring the highest level of service to enhance the patient experience. Adhere to all regulatory and Texas Board of Nursing standards. Perform other duties as assigned, within the scope of practice and clinical competency. Ensure safe care to patients, staff, and visitors; comply with all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards while managing time, supplies, productivity, and quality of service effectively. Foster individual professional growth by meeting continuing education requirements and supporting departmental goals that contribute to organizational success; serve as a mentor and resource for less experienced staff. Demonstrate commitment to caring for all community members by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
