The PT will manage a diverse caseload including orthopedic, neurological, geriatric, and sports-related conditions, working within an 8-hour day shift schedule and collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. Setting & Schedule Primary: Outpatient physical therapy clinic. Secondary: Inpatient acute care and swing-bed rehab on an as-needed basis. Schedule: Day shift, Monday Friday. Hours: 8-hour shifts with a 30-minute unpaid lunch (in alignment with New York State labor standards). Occasional Saturday coverage required; details to be coordinated with the department schedule. Patient Population & Case Types Outpatient (primary): Pre- and post-operative orthopedic conditions (joint replacements, rotator cuff repairs, acute orthopedic injuries). Chronic conditions: arthritis, chronic pain, balance issues. Neurological conditions: CVA, traumatic brain injury (TBI), Parkinson s disease. Sports-related injuries across age groups. Inpatient (occasional): Acute care patients needing early mobilization and functional rehab. Swing-bed rehab patients recovering strength and independence post-acute stay. Caseload & Productivity Approximately 15 patient slots per 8-hour day. Follow-up visits: 30-minute treatment sessions. New patient evaluations: 60-minute appointment slots. Technology & Treatment Modalities EMR: Epic with workstations on wheels for real-time, point-of-service documentation. Modalities: Ultrasound. Electrical stimulation. Saunder s mechanical traction. Paraffin therapy. Equipment: Treadmills, stationary bikes, upper body ergometers (UBE), and other standard PT equipment. Required Certifications & Licensure Active New York State Physical Therapy License. Current BLS certification. Preferred Experience Prior outpatient physical therapy experience strongly preferred. Experience with inpatient/acute/swing-bed rehab is a plus. Comfort treating a varied caseload including orthopedics, neuro, geriatrics, and sports medicine.
