Food Service - Assistant Manager

Position Type: Food Service/Food Service Assistant Manager Date Posted: 2/16/2026 Location: Lafayette Meadows Elementary School Date Available: ASAP Terms of Employment This is a 9 month position for 5.5 hours/day. Purpose Serves food items for school lunch program within the proper time and temperature limits. Performs other necessary cleaning duties of the kitchen area. Prepares and serves fresh menu items for immediate serving. Acts as back-up to Food Service Manager. Frequent interaction with students and staff to describe menu items. Cash register operation is required, as well as delivery of daily deposits to the high school cafeteria with mileage reimbursement. Qualifications Demonstrated ability to safely operate school food service equipment in area of responsibility. Good oral and interpersonal communication skills. Must be able to get along with others in a team situation. 1-2 years previous experience in a restaurant or cafeteria setting required. 1-2 years previous baking experience required. Previous food preparation experience is desirable. Ability to step up as the "acting manager" when necessary is required.
