Expeditor - Global Capital Purchasing

Expeditor Position Kelly is currently seeking an experienced Expeditor to support Global Capital Purchasing in the Houston, Texas area. Responsibilities include ensuring supplier fulfillment of purchase order terms, reviewing PO files regularly, communicating potential price or delivery changes to the Project Procurement Manager and Project Team, supporting the Global Supplier Management Process, maintaining communication with various departments, participating in early planning meetings, processing addenda, anticipating supplier and project needs, obtaining information from suppliers, setting up inspection kick-off meetings, following up on supplier claims, and performing buying responsibilities as requested. Qualifications include the ability to work with minimum supervision in an international environment, willingness to learn commercial and technical aspects of the job, strong problem-solving capabilities, ability to work with diverse professional backgrounds, triggering and facilitating problem resolution processes, understanding work processes and roles, knowledge of system capabilities, understanding of products and market situation, persistence in dealings with suppliers, proactive planning, early detection of potential quality or delivery problems, accurate and current data in electronic tools, timely processing of addenda, and experience with SAP ECC, ARIBA, and other Procurement systems. Education/Experience Requirements include 3+ years of experience as a buyer, preferably in the chemical industry, managing day to day activities and project work, coaching and mentoring others, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, shared services and internal customer support experience, collaboration skills, strong communication skills, ability to work with many levels of personnel and suppliers, thoroughness, strategic thinking with attention to detail, experience with procurement systems, and a BS, BA or country equivalent degree, preferably in Supply Chain, Operations Management or Engineering.
