Your role will involve balancing the art of high-quality dental care with the leadership needed to cultivate the skills and professional growth of our dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants. Collaborating closely with the Studio Manager, you'll foster a work environment that reflects Tend's Mission, Vision, and Values, driving success for both our patients and our studio. We offer a competitive guaranteed base salary paired with a production bonus. Chief Dentists have the potential to earn between 32-40% of their adjusted production, making it one of the most attractive compensation models in the dental industry. What You'll Do Clinical Leadership & Mentorship Provide mentorship and coaching to dentists, hygienists, and dental assistants in areas such as diagnosis, treatment planning, clinical skills, and patient care. Conduct regular performance reviews for general dentists and develop action plans as necessary. Collaborate with the Lead Hygienist and Lead Dental Assistant to promote team-wide mentorship and professional growth. Oversee clinical onboarding and ensure quality assurance for newly hired staff. Guarantee consistent delivery of high-quality care and superior patient experiences across all providers. Studio Performance & Patient Care Provide comprehensive dentistry services that surpass standard care while exemplifying clinical excellence for your team. Work alongside the Studio Manager to optimize patient schedules, enhance accessibility, and meet production and patient care goals. Lead daily pre-shift huddles to focus on workflow, patient care, and operational efficiency. Analyze clinical outcomes and implement necessary adjustments to enhance care continually. Take responsibility for complex cases and manage patient escalations, including decisions regarding refunds and clinical resolutions. Empower Your Team - Establish clear objectives, delegate effectively, and foster your team's success. What You Have DDS or DMD degree from an accredited dental school. Current, active dental license in the state you practice. Valid CPR/BLS certification. Active DEA registration. A minimum of 6 years of post-residency experience in private practice, DSO, or a similar leadership role. Proven track record of mentoring or leading providers in a multi-chair environment. Demonstrated success in managing complex patient cases and escalations. Proficiency with modern technology and digital workflows (Invisalign certification is a plus). Availability for a full-time schedule of 4 days per week plus 2 Saturdays each month. Physical Requirements This role requires the ability to perform the essential job functions listed, with or without reasonable accommodation: Ability to sit and stand for extended periods during clinical procedures. Manual dexterity and fine motor skills necessary for handling dental instruments and executing precise procedures. Good vision (corrected or uncorrected) to read charts, interpret radiographs, and operate clinical equipment. Ability to bend, reach, and maintain ergonomic posture for patient care. Occasional lifting or movement of equipment and supplies up to 25 pounds. Capability of effectively communicating with patients, team members, and other healthcare professionals in person and through technology.
