Job Description Join our innovative OCI (Oracle Cloud) AI Infrastructure Innovation team as we develop the next wave of storage technologies. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead both architecture and hands-on development across critical layers such as distributed processing, transactions, consensus, and storage engines. Responsibilities Lead the comprehensive architecture, system design, and implementation of distributed storage platforms. Drive innovations in query processing, transaction, and I/O performance, collaborating across various components including query planning/optimization and distributed execution engines. Build production-quality, high-performance software features emphasizing durability, correctness, observability, and security. Establish performance goals and success metrics; design benchmarks and carry out large-scale experiments to assess throughput and latency. Formulate consistency, replication, and recovery strategies. Work closely with teams across storage, networking, compute, and control-plane to deliver seamless end-to-end solutions on OCI. Mentor engineers, provide technical guidance and reviews, while influencing the long-term roadmap and technical standards. Qualifications Required: Extensive expertise in distributed systems with a track record of delivering large-scale, fault-tolerant, strongly consistent services. Experience in developing distributed execution engines. Demonstrated capability to design for global scale involving sharding/partitioning, placement policies, rebalancing, and multi-region replication. Strong software engineering skills with an emphasis on performance profiling, correctness testing, and high code quality. Experience in cloud architecture on a major public cloud, particularly in observability, orchestration, and incident management. Bachelor's or Master's in Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or equivalent practical experience; proven technical leadership and mentoring ability. Preferred: Knowledge of high-performance I/O paths and understanding of cross-region networking and latency trade-offs. Solid foundation in consensus and transaction systems. Expertise in observability practices at scale, including tracing, metrics, logs, eBPF/perf, and chaos/failure testing. Familiarity with AI/HPC workload patterns and their impacts on storage, query processing, and consistency models. Salary Range: Hiring range in USD from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum, with potential eligibility for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
