Support surgical teams in a high-acuity, Level 1 Trauma Center providing exceptional care across diverse specialties including cardiac, vascular, thoracic, orthopedic trauma, neuro spine, and reconstructive microsurgery. This contract role requires a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist experienced in complex surgical procedures and trauma environments. Responsibilities Prepare and maintain sterile fields, instruments, and equipment for surgeries including robotic and minimally invasive techniques Assist surgical teams during complex procedures such as cardiac surgery, orthopedic trauma, neuro surgeries, and microsurgical flaps Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and nursing staff to ensure patient safety and efficient operating room flow Participate in orientation and ongoing unit education to maintain up-to-date surgical practices Adhere to on-call schedules including late evenings and occasional weekend coverage with a one-hour response time Uphold hospital policies including 50% holiday coverage during the contract period Qualifications Graduation from an accredited surgical technology program; CST certification preferred Minimum 2+ years experience in a Level I or II Trauma Center (Level III or below not accepted) Proven expertise in cardiac, vascular, thoracic, and orthopedic trauma surgical cases Skilled in handling robotic surgery equipment (DaVinci XI) and advanced microsurgery techniques Current BLS certification required Scheduling & Shift Details 12-hour night shifts: 1900 to 0700 (36 hours per week) Call requirements include weekly late call and weekend call approximately every 6-8 weeks Benefits & Perks Free parking and provision of scrub uniforms with extended sizing available Comprehensive support from clinical supervisors, charge nurses, anesthesia teams, and leadership staff Orientation provided to ensure smooth integration into facility practices This contract opportunity offers a dynamic clinical environment with a supportive multidisciplinary team.
