PICU Registered Nurse in Cibolo, TX

Provide specialized nursing care in a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) setting, independently managing both routine and complex clinical situations with expertise in ventilator support. This role requires a detail-oriented RN with strong critical thinking skills and the ability to delegate and collaborate effectively within the care team. Responsibilities: Deliver patient-centered nursing care following the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation. Address the complex psychological, emotional, and social needs of pediatric patients and their families with compassion and professionalism. Administer medications and treatments according to established protocols; monitor patients for side effects and treatment efficacy. Maintain accurate documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and nursing care provided. Educate patients, families, and caregivers on health conditions and care plans, identifying additional resources when needed. Uphold organizational competencies by leading oneself and contributing positively to team dynamics. Participate in new hire orientation and complete all competency validations and required trainings. Qualifications: Active RN license in Texas or through the compact licensing agreement. Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred. Minimum of 1 year of experience in the PICU or a related pediatric nursing specialty with ventilator experience required. Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association. Experience in pediatric settings or completion of a Perinatal RN Residency is preferred.
