Job Description

Spacecraft represent the most pressing unmet need across the entire aerospace industry. As more launch vehicles come online and the cost to orbit decreases, more companies launching payloads to space continue to emerge. For the first time in history, this influx of payload companies combined with reduced launch costs has resulted in a massive increase in need for commercial spacecraft platforms, known as satellite buses. These buses hold the payloads of our customers and are flown on launch vehicles. Apex manufactures these satellite buses at scale using a combination of software, vertical integration, and hardware that is designed for manufacturing. Our spacecraft enable the future of society: ranging from earth observation to communications and more. We'd love for you to join us on our mission of providing humankind access to the galaxy beyond our planet. About the Role As a Full-stack Developer on our team, you'll partner directly with engineers, manufacturing technicians, and operations leaders to create software that removes friction and drives execution. You'll own products end-to-end-from architecture to deployment-that materially improve how we build spacecraft. Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain fullstack web applications that streamline spacecraft design, manufacturing, and testing processes. Develop RESTful APIs and backend services to support internal workflows and external integrations. Collaborate with manufacturing, engineering, and operations teams to understand needs and build solutions. Own the architecture, performance, and security of the systems you develop. Help shape our internal software ecosystem to be modular, scalable, and developer-friendly. Contribute to defining software best practices, architecture decisions, and deployment standards. Requirements: U.S. Persons status is required as this position requires access to export-controlled data. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent practical experience. 3+ years of experience building production web applications end-to-end. Strong proficiency with React (hooks, context, modern state management) and TypeScript. Solid backend development skills using Python (FastAPI, Django, Flask) or Node.js. Experience designing SQL or NoSQL schemas and writing performant, maintainable queries. Familiarity with cloud-hosted deployments (AWS, GCP, or Azure). Ability to translate complex real-world workflows into clean APIs and elegant user experiences. Comfortable working closely with non-technical stakeholders; strong written and verbal communication. Nice-to-Haves: Experience with data platforms like Palantir Foundry, Snowflake, Databricks, or Looker. Familiarity with manufacturing or operational systems (ERP, MRP, MES, PLM). Knowledge of infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, CDK) and event-driven architectures. Please watch our video that describes how we use Palantir Foundry at Apex.
