Lead Business Data Analyst

Job Description: Senior Business Data Analyst We are seeking a Senior Business Data Analyst with extensive experience analyzing business requirements, documenting processes, and driving data-focused solutions. This role requires a strong balance of technical and analytical skills, along with the ability to collaborate effectively across business and technical teams. The analyst will play a key role in understanding current business processes, data flows, and system functionalities, then translating those insights into comprehensive requirements for new systems and enhancements. This includes writing Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria to support development and testing teams. The ideal candidate will have expertise in data analysis, documentation, workflow design, and data management processes, with proven experience facilitating workshops and presenting findings to diverse stakeholders. Key Responsibilities nalyze current business processes, data workflows, and system functionalities to identify gaps and opportunities for improvement. Translate complex business needs into clear, actionable requirements, including Epics, User Stories, and acceptance criteria. Collaborate with business stakeholders, product owners, and technical teams to ensure alignment between business objectives and technical solutions. Create and maintain data documentation such as data dictionaries, business requirement documents, and mapping specifications. Design and present visual data models, dashboards, and reports to communicate insights, trends, and timelines. Lead workshops, stakeholder interviews, and data-focused meetings to gather requirements and resolve issues. Support the optimization of data workflows and management processes using appropriate modeling and mapping tools. Minimum Qualifications 13+ years of experience as a Business Data Analyst in IT, with strong analytical and documentation expertise. 13+ years of proven ability to collaborate with both technical and non-technical teams to address complex, data-driven business challenges. 10+ years of experience designing and optimizing data workflows and management processes using modeling or mapping tools. 10+ years of experience writing Epics and User Stories (with acceptance criteria) for development and QA teams. 8+ years of experience creating and maintaining data dictionaries, BRDs, and data mapping specifications. 8+ years of experience building and presenting visual data models and dashboards. 8+ years of demonstrated ability to lead stakeholder meetings, document outcomes, and resolve data-related issues. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or related field (or equivalent experience). 4+ years of experience managing multiple data projects concurrently with strong multitasking and prioritization skills . Lumen and / or its clients will not provide equipment (Laptop, monitor, etc.) to the selected contractor. The contractor must have their own equipment. Access to a virtual desktop set up (software) will be provided by Lumen's client, allowing the user access to the required systems and technology.
