Salary : $18,408.00 Annually Location : Kingsport, TN Job Type: Temporary / Seasonal Job Number: 2026-2-24 Department: Leisure/Community Services Division: Bays Mountain Park Opening Date: 02/27/2026 Closing Date: 3/27/2026 11:59 PM Eastern Purpose Serves as a front-line information source about the park's programs and facilities. Essential FunctionsWelcomes visitors. Collects entry fees. Sells maps using the park's POS system. Accounts for money collected. Distributes brochures/flyers containing information about the park and its programs. Responds to questions concerning and activities and events at the park. Provides descriptions and explanation of the natural history of the park. Observes park visitors and reports possible violations of park rules and regulations to Park Rangers. Cross-training in Gift Shop (POS system, selling tickets/memberships/merchandise) Operating Loomis Machine. Performs other duties as assigned. QualificationsKnowledge of park rules, regulations, and fee schedule. Skills in greeting and interacting favorably with park visitors. Skills in making change and keeping records accurately. Skills in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with city staff, park volunteers, visitors, and the general public Computer skills in using Microsoft. Ability to operate a call radio. Ability to operate a Loomis machine. Ability to multi-task. Education and Experience High school graduate or GED equivalent. At least one year of experience in customer service preferred.
