MUNIS Code: 0100 Job Details: The Director will organize, plan, direct and implement the District's Human Resources programs and activities including employment, compensation, negotiations, employee relations, employee benefits and employee assistance; supervise and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel. The Board of Education may, upon the recommendation of the Superintendent, appoint a Director of Human Resources. The Director of Human Resources shall be a 240 day contract. The Director will be directly responsible to the Superintendent. Salary commensurate with years of teaching experience and rank. Qualifications: The Director of Human Resources must have a minimum of a Bachelor's Degree. Preference will be given to those with Kentucky teaching and/or educational leadership certifications. Administrative/supervisory experience and relevant educational background and work experience are important and will be considered. The Director of Human Resources must possess not only technical skills appropriate to the responsibilities, but also possess leadership qualities, a professional attitude and skills in working with adults and students. Duties and Responsibilities: Employment Process Shall process all applications for employment including verification of references Shall develop a pool of qualified applications in each job category (screening) Shall develop and implement recruitment program Shall recommend candidates to Principal's and Supervisors/Directors so they may interview for employment Shall consult and work closely with district leadership on personnel needs and selection Employment Policies, Procedures, Laws, and Evaluations Shall hear grievance, seek to resolve problems Shall work with administrative staff in improving evaluation programs Shall ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations Shall be responsible for all pertinent state and federal reports Shall work to achieve maximum school/student instructional performance through the recruitment and retention of school personnel Shall work to achieve organizational efficiency through the staffing process and formulas set forth for the district Shall coordinate substitute and paraprofessional employees Shall function as a clearinghouse for policy development and work with the Kentucky School Boards Association to accomplish a feasible structure Shall provide leadership and direction in the orientation and implementation of administrative policies and procedures Employee Records Shall maintain all employee records Shall be responsible for establishing and updating all job descriptions Shall keep employees informed on personnel matters Shall be responsible for establishing and updating all substitute lists Shall assist instructional department in coordination of intern program and student teacher placement Employee Pay Schedule And Benefits Shall assist in determining compensation levels Shall administer all fringe benefit programs Shall implement programs to improve/maintain employee engagement Leadership Duties and Responsibilities Shall work to achieve team leadership concept throughout the district Shall work to live by the mission, vision and Core Values of the district Shall assist in the preparation of Board agendas and attend regular Board of Education meetings Shall stay properly informed on new educational and school personnel trends and practices Shall direct the evaluation process for certified and classified employees throughout the system Shall oversee and assist with the district KPIP/KTIP state programs along with all paperwork as needed Shall serve as the district SBDM Coordinator Shall administer the district Federal Title IX program Performs other tasks and assumes responsibilities as may be assigned by the Superintendent.
