Job Description

Director of Family Services The Director of Family Services is responsible for providing high-level operational and family support leadership within the Day Center. Reporting directly to the Day Center Director, this position serves as the primary internal care manager for participants and families while supporting regulatory compliance, census sustainability, audits, and overall operational excellence. This role functions as a key liaison between families, clinical care, recreation, nursing, and leadership to ensure proactive communication, coordinated service delivery, and an exceptional participant and caregiver experience. The Director of Family Services anticipates needs, facilitates community resources, supports admissions and retention efforts, and ensures adherence to Virginia licensing standards. The Director of Family Services works in close partnership with the Day Center Director to maintain regulatory compliance, strengthen participant and family satisfaction, and support census stability and growth. Education Bachelor's Degree in Social Work, Healthcare Administration, Gerontology, or related field required. Master's Degree or clinical licensure preferred. Experience 3-5 years experience in dementia care, adult day, assisted living, or long-term care. Demonstrated experience in family-facing roles and care coordination. Strong operational organization and documentation skills. Working knowledge of Virginia DSS regulations preferred. Experience supporting census growth or admissions processes preferred. Demonstrated emotional intelligence and high-energy leadership presence. Physical Demands Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend and squat for prolonged periods; Ability to push and pull objects and lift and carry up to 20 pounds, unassisted, on a frequent basis (occasionally up to 50 pounds); Full use of gross and fine motor skills of the upper and lower extremities (i.e., typing on a keyboard, use of a computer, mailings, etc.); Ability to drive a vehicle and navigate effectively in service region. Principal Contacts Center staff, participants, families, and vendors General Requirements Must be able to execute the terms and conditions set forth in the Insight Memory Care Center Employee Handbook, including, but not limited to: Works in a safety-conscious manner which ensures that safe work practices are used in order not to pose a risk to self or others in the workplace. Reports any safety violations or hazards to supervisor. Complies with company policies and procedures and local, state, and federal regulations. Adheres to policy on Drug-Free Workplace. Interacts in a tactful, diplomatic, and humanistic manner with participants, families, visitors, and co-workers to provide a safe, efficient, and therapeutically effective caring environment which ensures the self-respect, personal dignity, rights and physical safety of each participant and facility guest. Maintains a dependable attendance record and adheres to standards of cleanliness, grooming, hygiene, and dress code.
