Job Title: Network Engineer - NOC Admin Location: Onsite - Charlotte, NC Type: Contract What are the top skills required for this role? Monitoring & Event Handling: Monitor using SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Netscout Routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, ACLs). Exposure to Arista, Fortigate, Cisco Manager: Own operations, escalations, SLA governance, stakeholder communication, process improvement Job Description/ Responsibilities Shift Model: 24×7 rotational Role Overview Responsible for proactive monitoring, first-level diagnosis, and L1/L1.5 troubleshooting. Not a catch-and-dispatch role. Expected to perform initial troubleshooting, attempt first-level fixes, provide accurate findings, update documentation, and join troubleshooting bridges. Key Responsibilities Monitoring & Event Handling: Monitor using SolarWinds, Thousand Eyes, Netscout, Dynatrace. Validate alerts and perform L1/L1.5 troubleshooting. Troubleshooting: Run diagnostics, analyze routing issues, validate firewall health, attempt corrective actions. Incident Process: Document steps, join bridges, escalate to L2/L3 with data. Documentation: Maintain SOPs, guides, diagrams. Technical Skills Routing/switching (BGP, OSPF, VLAN, STP, ACLs). Exposure to Arista, Fortigate, Cisco, F5. Monitoring using SolarWinds, TE, Netscout, Dynatrace. Strong problem-solving and communication. Role-Based Expectations PA: Runbook-driven L1 tasks. A: L1.5 diagnostics, support Client, refine escalations. SA: Escalation point, advanced diagnostics, lead troubleshooting, documentation quality.
