As a Customer Quality Engineer (CQE), you will be a trusted technical representative for our automotive and industrial manufacturing customers-leading investigations, driving corrective actions, and helping launch high-quality products from day one. This is a highly visible role with real ownership, ideal for someone who wants to influence outcomes, not just analyze them. This position is 100% on-site and deeply embedded in manufacturing operations. It is not an IT, software, or remote role-it's a true quality engineering opportunity for professionals who want to be on the shop floor, collaborating face-to-face with customers, production teams, and engineering partners. Some travel may be required to support customer visits, issue resolution, and program activities. What You'll DoBe the Voice of Quality for the Customer Lead customer concern responses from initial communication through containment, root cause analysis, corrective action, and verification of customer satisfaction. Represent the organization professionally and confidently in customer meetings and audits. Drive Effective Problem Solving Lead cross-functional teams using structured methodologies (8D, A3, DMAIC, PDCA) to implement sustainable corrective actions. Ensure lessons learned are captured and embedded into processes to prevent recurrence. Support New Product Launches Partner with Program Managers and Engineering to support APQP activities and defect-prevention efforts. Participate in print reviews and engineering change evaluations to ensure manufacturability and quality readiness. Own Customer-Specific Quality Requirements Interpret customer-specific requirements and integrate them into the Quality Management System (QMS). Support PPAP development and submissions for assigned customers or product families. Strengthen Manufacturing Quality Develop and maintain inspection plans, measurement strategies, and acceptance criteria. Work closely with Production Quality Engineers (PQEs) to support day-to-day manufacturing quality and issue resolution. Contribute to Continuous Improvement Support internal audits and ongoing evaluation of quality systems, procedures, and processes. Collaborate with Supplier Quality to address supplier-related issues impacting customer quality. Contribute to plant, departmental, and corporate quality metrics aligned with strategic goals. What You BringRequired Minimum 5 years of experience in a manufacturing quality role with direct customer-facing responsibility. Automotive industry experience. Bachelor's degree in Quality, Manufacturing, Engineering, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Strong working knowledge of GD&T. Education and hands-on experience with Statistical Process Control (SPC), including: Descriptive statistics (mean, range, standard deviation, control charts) Inferential statistics (capability analysis, distributions, sampling, probability) Training and experience applying formal problem-solving methodologies. Functional competency in metrology. Preferred Automotive APQP and PPAP experience. Experience in metal stamping or similar high-volume manufacturing environments. ISO / IATF experience, including internal auditing. Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office, Minitab, etc.).
