We are seeking a proficient Procurement Expert who will play a key role in acquiring essential goods and services for our firm in an efficient and cost-effective manner. This role is vital for ensuring that we have the resources we need while adhering to budgetary constraints. You will be involved in diverse activities from onboarding new suppliers to negotiating contracts and managing supplier relationships ensuring compliance with procurement policies. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in procurement practices, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven ability to enhance operational efficiency while driving cost savings. This role reports to the Manager, Procurement and is primarily based in Austin, Dallas, or Houston, Texas. Regular office presence is required in accordance with the firm's hybrid work policy. Key Responsibilities: Sourcing and Supplier Selection: Conduct market research to identify potential suppliers and evaluate their capabilities through RFI, RFP, and RFQ processes. Contract Negotiations: Secure favorable terms and conditions, focusing on cost savings and compliance with laws and regulations. Vendor and Contract Management: Maintain vendor documentation, advise stakeholders on contract terms, and assist in improving procurement processes. Managing Supplier Relationships: Build strong relationships with vendors, ensuring reliable supply chains and addressing performance issues proactively. Compliance and Risk Management: Ensure procurement activities meet internal policies, external regulations, and ethical standards. Order Management: Liaise with vendors for quotations, manage purchase orders and track orders to ensure timely delivery. Cost Analysis and Budget Control: Analyze procurement costs, implement cost reduction strategies, and track savings. Data Analysis and Reporting: Evaluate data to identify trends, monitor spending, and create management reports. Special Projects: Support implementation of new procurement tools and coordinate special projects. General Administration Tasks: Address queries and assist the manager with various administrative tasks. This job description is not exhaustive and may evolve as needed. Skills and Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. 3-5 years of experience in procurement or vendor management, preferably within a legal or professional services environment. Proven ability to forge trusting relationships with business partners and suppliers. Strong problem-solving and negotiation skills. Excellent analytical abilities with a focus on data-driven decision-making. Familiarity with procurement software and contract management tools. Knowledge of contract law and IT Service Delivery Management (ITIL) preferred. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint. Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.
