We leverage insights from cutting-edge onchain innovation to refine investment theses and inform Coinbase's product strategy, execute various investment strategies, and support our extensive portfolio of over 500 projects globally. Key Responsibilities: Oversee investments from beginning to end, including thesis development, category mapping, sourcing, evaluating, closing, and providing ongoing support. Publish thought leadership pieces and serve as a subject matter expert in specific technical domains (e.g., DeFi) for Coinbase Ventures and executive teams. Develop innovative onchain strategies and manage liquid portfolio efforts. Initiate special projects to enhance Coinbase's product strategy or improve the Coinbase Ventures platform. Qualifications: A minimum of 7 years of professional experience, with substantial tenure at a leading firm or organization. A deep-seated passion and proven expertise in one or more onchain domains; you truly embody the onchain experience. Well-developed investment judgment with a long-term perspective and strong critical reasoning skills. Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills combined with a robust work ethic. Outstanding interpersonal skills with a focus on founder engagement: clear communication, responsiveness, empathy, and a supportive demeanor. BA/BS degree or equivalent educational background. Preferred Qualifications: Considerable live deal experience, including a solid investment track record and deal sheet. An MBA or advanced degree is a plus. Total compensation may also encompass equity, performance bonuses, and benefits such as medical, dental, vision, and 401(k) options.
