Description Job Title: On-site Estimator Specialist This role is pivotal in delivering comprehensive estimating services to our electric utility clients. We are seeking a dedicated professional who can efficiently collaborate with individual consumers, partner with larger entities such as municipalities and highway agencies, and support utility-initiated projects. Job Type: Full-Time +, Exempt. Pay: Competitive/Hourly Benefits: Company Sponsored Retirement Plan Health Insurance (Medical/Dental/Vision) Employee Assistance Program Life, long-term/short-term disability insurance Vacation Time Key Responsibilities: Prepare unit estimates comprehensively, including all cover sheet components and hazard assessments. Utilize design knowledge to create accurate products for the installation, replacement, and enhancement of power distribution systems. Analyze engineering challenges using various tools and provide prompt and effective solutions while managing multiple projects concurrently. Collaborate effectively with internal teams, utility customers, and other stakeholders. Interpret plans and specifications to grasp the complete scope of projects. Implement standards based on GIS practices. Review supporting documents to identify and address inconsistencies or issues. Engage with customers and perform site visits to gather necessary information. Employ GIS documentation along with Microsoft Office Suite to develop estimates. Minimum Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age. Exceptional customer service skills and strong attention to detail. A commitment to delivering what our clients require. Some knowledge of overhead and underground utility operations is beneficial. Electrical knowledge is an advantage. Willingness to work additional hours, including weekends, to meet client needs and deadlines. Ability to interpret and analyze construction drawings as well as utilize various locating software. Capable of multitasking and managing estimates for several projects simultaneously. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel. Education & Experience: Preferred experience of at least 1 year in the electrical or electric utility sector. Construction field experience is also favored. A minimum of an Associate's degree is required. Pre-Screen: Offered candidates may need to complete a drug screening, background check, and/or MVR check. License & Certifications: A valid driver's license is required. Travel Requirements: Regular local travel in Massachusetts and Rhode Island (using company vehicle). Occasional travel to Eastern New York as necessary (using company vehicle). Physical Requirements: RARE (less than 10%): tasks like stooping, kneeling, crawling, climbing, and balancing. OCCASIONAL (up to 33%): activities involving standing, sitting, lifting up to 50 lbs., and manual dexterity. FREQUENT (up to 66%): walking.
