Senior Data Architect

Title: Senior Data Architect Location: Remote with Travel required to Pittsburgh location Travel Requirements Light travel required; approximately 4-6 days/month to Pittsburgh location Architects will meet with bank teams in person every 2-3 weeks, typically for 2-3 days per visit. Data Architect Focus: Payments Data Architecture aligned with ISO 20022 standards. Responsibilities: Assess and design data architecture across the payments ecosystem. Recommend appropriate data storage solutions (data lake, warehouse, etc.). Guide transformation from operational to analytical data. Collaborate with the bank's data architecture team. Make technology recommendations aligned with bank-approved tools. Ensure transaction integrity and system resilience. Preferred Background: Financial services experience, ideally in payments (e.g., Banking, PayPal, VISA, Client). Strong understanding of data architecture principles and trade-offs. Qualifications Experience: 7+ years of progressive experience in data architecture, data modeling, and database design. Data Architecture: Expertise in various database architectures and technologies, including Relational (SQL) and Non-Relational (NoSQL) databases. Proven experience designing and implementing large-scale data platforms such as Data Warehouses, Data Lakes, ODS, and Data Lakehouses. Strong proficiency in creating data models and applying various data modeling techniques (e.g., 3NF, Dimensional Modeling, Data Vault). Model Design: Demonstrated ability to translate complex business requirements into robust, scalable, and efficient data model designs.
