We are hiring for a Software QA/Tester - Journeyman level to work on a U.S. Federal Civilian project. This is a Full-time 12-month contract, with possible extension. Candidates must have (or be able to obtain) a public trust clearance. This position requires candidates to obtain/maintain a public trust background investigation. Candidates should be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident. If on Visa, you must have lived in the U.S. full time for the past 3 years / 36 months (no Exceptions). Residency will be validated. Start date: Immediate Job Summary We are looking for a Software QA/Tester to join our team supporting federal clients. The person in this role will have demonstrated experience with manual testing, preferred in a federal government environment. Responsibilities and Duties We are seeking a Software QA / Tester with a minimum of 2-5 years of manual testing experience. Develop, publish, and implement test plans for complex, multi-tier, distributed applications throughout the full lifecycle. Develop manual or automated testing systems using commercial tools, scripts and data set. Participate in all aspects of testing, including functional, regression, load and system testing. Assure the appropriate level of quality. Resolve defects by working with developers and/or engineers to ensure the software development process has an appropriate level of testing. Investigate and find potential security holes attack vectors within the code base. Work in iterative Agile/Scrum development cycles with cross-functional teams. Communicate effectively with federal clients, developers, and program managers. Required Qualifications Education & Experience Bachelor's degree in a Computer Science, Engineering, or related field preferred. 2-5+ years of combined technical experience in quality assurance and/or testing roles. Experience in Jira. Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies, specifically Kanban. U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident w/Green Card (preferred).
