School Bus Driver

JOB TITLE: School Bus Driver REPORTS TO: Transportation Services Manager JOB DESCRIPTION: School bus drivers transport students to and from school, as well as, to and from special events such as field trips. School bus drivers are responsible for keeping to a specific route schedule while keeping passenger safety the highest priority. RESPONSIBILITIES: Following the planned route and schedule for departure times and stops Being alert to traffic and weather conditions to ensure passenger safety Regularly checking vehicle safety through pre-trip and post trip inspections and consistent monitoring of vehicle condition while driving Monthly reporting of fuel consumption and mileage Responding to emergency and non-emergency situations Reporting delays, accidents, and emergencies Enforcing conduct and safety rules on the bus Maintaining a clean vehicle, including a weekly washing, sweeping, and dusting REQUIREMENTS: High school diploma/GED preferred Class B CDL Passenger and school bus endorsements and air-brake restriction lifted Excellent driving skills Clean driving record Ability to pass physical and drug test Must obtain required clearances Experience working with children preferred Patience Excellent communication skills
