Job summary: Blue Point is looking to hire a Maintenance Technician to support brewery operations. This position repairs and maintains equipment related to the brewing and packaging process as well as conducting facility maintenance. Electrical experience is strongly preferred with an ability to understand, install, and troubleshoot electrical issues. Candidates must be flexible on hours and shifts. Overtime hours will be scheduled during periods of increased maintenance or project needs or to cover absences and vacations. Our ideal candidate has strong technical experience, such as equipment troubleshooting including pneumatics, electrical, conveyor, motor and pump wiring, electronics, and robotics. If you've previously worked in a manufacturing or production facility, this might be the job for you! This opening is for day shift: Monday through Friday, 6AM-2PM Hourly Rate: $29-31.50/hour DOE 6% Shift Differential for hours worked between 10 PM - 6AM Occasional weekend work may be required Essential Duties & Responsibilities: General responsibilities Perform routine preventative maintenance, emergency repairs, and special fabrication projects for production brewing and packaging equipment including: fillers, packers, conveyors, brewing vessels, as well as plant facilities and utilities equipment including: air compressors, steam boilers, RTUs and chillers. Support Brew pub and restaurant operations as needed. Troubleshooting and coordinating Observes electrical and mechanical devices/systems in operation to diagnose equipment issues and failures Repairs and replaces defective parts, and sources information for replacements coordinates with sister breweries and vendors to troubleshoot particularly difficult issues Planning and Documentation Utilize AMMS software to manage work orders, document parts usage and labor hours, and add detailed notes of work completed. Accurately track and report inventory levels. Coordinate with other departments to schedule availability for work orders, prioritizing maintenance while balancing production needs Mechanical aptitude Lubricates and calibrates mechanical components of machinery and equipment components such as chains, sprockets, bearings, belts, gearboxes, pneumatics, valves, pumps, and more. Electrical aptitude Install, test, and repair electrical components such as plugs, outlets, breakers, contactors, switches, solenoids, sensors, motors, meters, and more. Backup control programs and calibrate recipes, parameters, and setpoints. Job Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED. Graduate of a 2-year post-secondary program in Industrial Maintenance OR successful completion of a formal apprenticeship program OR 4 years direct industrial maintenance experience, preferably in food and beverage Previous electrical experience Good mechanical aptitude and effective use of basic hand tools. Ability to troubleshoot and repair all minor mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and hydraulic problems with minimal assistance. Ability to utilize basic math skills to complete necessary job tasks. Reads and understands electrical schematics, equipment manuals, pneumatic diagrams and mechanical drawings. Ability to make decisions and solve problems with appropriate priorities. Able to effectively communicate with supervisors and peers. Abide by all Safety, Health, and Environmental policies. Basic computer skills (MS Windows Platform, MS Outlook for email). Experience troubleshooting and calibrating AC & DC drives. Troubleshooting and networking PLC programming a plus but not required. Welding experience a plus. Physical Requirements: Stand for up to 8-hour shifts (with meal breaks). Climb stairs or ladders periodically. Frequent use of hands and fingers to handle, reach, lift, carry and lower objects up to 50 pounds. Frequent use of latches, hand tools, clamps, hoses, etc., requiring manipulative skills and hand-eye coordination. Bend, squat and move around production floor as needed. Climb up and drive forklift as necessary. Able to work at heights and in confined spaces.
