PRODUCTION MANAGER - Chesterfield MI

About this Role: Plan, organize, and oversee daily production activities across SMT, through-hole, conformal coating, final assembly, and test areas. Ensure production schedules are met to achieve on-time delivery and customer requirements. Monitor workflow, staffing, and production priorities to optimize throughput and efficiency. Coordinate with Planning, Engineering, Quality, and Materials to ensure smooth production flow. Manage production capacity and labor utilization to meet demand while controlling costs. Team Leadership and Supervision Lead, coach, and develop production supervisors and production personnel. Establish clear expectations and hold staff accountable for safety, quality, productivity, and attendance. Support hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management of production staff. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement. Identify and implement process improvements to increase productivity, quality, and efficiency. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) such as on-time delivery, throughput, scrap, and labor efficiency Lead efforts to reduce waste, improve cycle times, and enhance operational performance. QualificationsEducation and Experience 4+ years of production leadership experience required Experience with SMT, PCB assembly, and electronic manufacturing processes strongly preferred. Experience supervising production teams in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Knowledge of circuit board assembly processes, including SMT, through-hole, and electronic assembly is a plus. Ability to read and interpret production schedules, work instructions, and technical documentation. Must be US Person Experience with ERP/MRP systems preferred.
