University of Rochester: Office of the Provost: University of Rochester Medical Center: School of Medicine and Dentistry: Pathology & Lab MedSalary Range or Pay Grade$220,000-340,000DescriptionThe Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of Rochester (URMC) School of Medicine & Dentistry, in Rochester, NY, is currently recruiting for a surgical pathologist; we are interested in candidates with a focus on Breast/GYN. Successful applicants must be board-eligible in anatomic pathology by the American Board of Pathology and be eligible for a medical license in the State of New York.The Department provides a very wide range of services, currently accessioning over 75,000 surgical/biopsy cases per year. More than 35 anatomic pathologists participate in a fully subspecialized sign out model.The successful applicant will be expected to participate in a program in applied, translational, or basic research. The Medical Center has a highly collegial environment. There are multiple opportunities for collaborative research and for the development of clinical initiatives through interactions with Medical Center faculty.Opportunities for teaching are ample: we have an ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowship position in cytology and non-ACGME-accredited subspecialty fellowship positions in surgical pathology, in addition to rotating pathology residents and medical students.QualificationsCandidates must have completed medical school having an MD, MD-PhD, or equivalent and be board-eligible in Anatomic Pathology by the American Board of Pathology and eligible for a medical license in the State of New York.
