The mission of the Idaho Industrial Commission is to fairly administer the Idaho Workers' Compensation LawSPECIAL NOTIFICATION: This non-classified position is exempt from classified state service and the rules of the Division of Human Resources and the Idaho Personnel Commission.The Idaho Industrial Commission is currently recruiting a Rehabilitation Field Consultant/ Office Supervisor for the Coeur d'Alene field office . This position provides a full range of return-to-work services for injured workers under the Idaho Workers' Compensation program and will play key role in supervising and training Administrative Assistant 1’s for this field office.Key responsibilities center on guiding injured workers through the return‑to‑work process by conducting interviews and counseling, managing complex cases, preparing clear and timely correspondence, performing job analyses and employer outreach, applying labor‑market expertise to support job placement, delivering high‑quality customer service, and medical support, and will act as a point of contact for Commission managers and customers to ensure communication, teamwork, and the efficient delivery of services.This position has great benefits including: Participation in one of the Nation's best state retirement systems: PERSI (An opportunity for Student Loan Forgiveness (11 paid holidays a year Paid parental leave Excellent Medical, Dental, and Vision (plans Sick and vacation leave that accrue as soon as you start Optional 401K, and optional 457 Basic life insurance for employee and family Wellness programs Training opportunities Example of Duties: Field Consultant Duties: Conduct interviews and counseling for injured workers to develop return-to-work plans Drive to job sites within an assigned area to conduct detailed job analysis Measure and describe the physical and environmental requirements of various occupations Assess the employment handicap resulting from injuries or occupational diseases Evaluate social, academic, industrial, and motivational factors affecting recovery Arrange necessary assessments, job placements, or training services that may be required to expedite a return to work Collaborate closely with employers, insurance companies, medical providers, attorneys, organized labor, and government/private agencies Supervisor Duties: Hire, train, supervise and complete performance evaluations for direct staff using input from team members Lead planning, team coordination, and quality assurance Evaluate workflow for consultants and support staff teams Facilitate team meetings to support communication and coordination Implement office plans promoting respectful workplace practices, and safety Serve as point of contact for building security, maintenance, and lease matters Maintain secure handling of personnel and client records Develop and manage office safety programs in coordination with the agency safety monitor Engage in dispute resolution using negotiation, mediation, or structured problem‑solving techniques This list represents the primary duties of the position; it is not intended to be an exhaustive list of all responsibilities.Minimum Qualifications: Good knowledge of interviewing/counseling individuals, case management, communication/correspondence, job analysis/employer contact, labor market knowledge/job placement, customer service, and medical support. Typically met by: Completion of a bachelor’s degree with coursework in a related field, OR completion of four upper division college courses related to the Field Consultant role AND at least two years of relevant work experience, OR a combination of education and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge level. Pertinent experience includes responsible employment where the primary job functions align with those of a Field Consultant. Some knowledge of management practices, problem solving and conflict resolution skills. Typically met by: At least one semester of college‑level coursework, OR twenty hours of seminars, workshops, or training in dispute resolution, OR six months of work or volunteer experience resolving disputes in a formal or systematic manner, OR a combination of coursework and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge level. Valid driver's license.
