American Traveler is seeking an Interventional Radiology Technologist with 2+ years of experience for a 13-week contract at a Magnet®-designated academic medical center in Madison, WI. Job Details • Interventional Radiology unit within a Magnet®-designated academic teaching hospital and major referral center in Madison, WI, • Patient population includes inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and intra-operative cases, • Imaging modalities used include fluoroscopy, ultrasound, CT, and MR for both diagnostic and interventional procedures, • Procedures include vascular studies, abdominal/pelvic imaging, embolization, IVC filter placement/removal, TIPS, thoracentesis, paracentesis, gastrostomy tube placement, chest tube placement, and venous access, • Equipment includes Siemens imaging systems, CT, fluoroscopy, and ultrasound, • Epic EMR - experience preferred, • 5x8-hour day shifts, Monday-Friday, with start times between 7:00 AM and 10:00 AM, • On weeks with holidays, schedule converts to 4x10-hour shifts, • No weekends or holiday shifts, • Standby/call may be required on an as-needed basis, • Travelers are first to float and may be assigned to multiple units or locations within the organization based on staffing needs, Job Requirements • Minimum of 2 years of clinical interventional imaging experience required, • Graduate of an accredited School of Radiologic Technology required; Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred, • State of Wisconsin Radiographer license required - license must be in hand prior to consideration, • ARRT (R) required; ARRT (VI) highly preferred, • BLS certification issued by the American Heart Association required, • CT certification preferred, • Trauma Level II experience required; Trauma Level I experience preferred, • Neuro IR experience preferred, • Teaching hospital experience preferred, • Proficiency with sterile technique and isolation precautions/PPE required, • Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility - local candidates are not accepted, • First-time travelers are considered for this position, Additional Information • Work collaboratively with vascular interventional physicians and nurses to image and assist in a range of diagnostic and interventional procedures, • Apply critical thinking skills across a diverse patient population including inpatient, outpatient, pediatric, and intra-operative cases, • This is a Magnet®-designated facility recognized as Wisconsin's #1 hospital and a leading national teaching institution and referral center, • Orientation is approximately one week and is held every other week; travelers should follow their welcome letter for specific start date, time, and location details, • A telemetry exam (adult and pediatric) is required prior to start, with a passing score of 80% or higher; 100% identification of lethal rhythms is required on the adult exam - travelers have two attempts to pass, • An active telemetry competency must be on file per calendar year, • RTO is generally limited to no more than 2 weeks per contract; consecutive weeks off exceeding 1 week may result in a contract extension, • Parking onsite requires a permit through UW Transportation; bus, park & ride, and private parking options are also available
