Fleet & Operations Manager

TWO MEN AND A TRUCK® is seeking a hands-on Fleet & Operations Manager with DOT / FMCSA compliance experience to lead daily operations at our Wilmington (Boston North) location. This role partners closely with the General Manager to ensure safe, efficient operations, develop frontline teams, and deliver an excellent customer experience. This is a working leadership role for someone who thrives in accountability, structure, and fast-paced environments. WHAT YOU'LL DO Oversee daily branch operations: staffing, scheduling, dispatch, and fleet readiness Own DOT compliance, including FMCSA regulations, Hours of Service (HOS), driver qualification files, and ELDs Implement and audit DOT programs to ensure ongoing compliance Conduct safety spot checks and job-site audits Coordinate fleet maintenance, inspections, and equipment inventory Interview, hire, onboard, and train movers, drivers, and supervisors Coach, develop, and hold team members accountable Support driver development and safe transition from mover to driver Handle customer concerns and oversee damage resolution Maintain operational records and reports REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS Prior DOT / FMCSA compliance experience ( preferred ) Working knowledge of Hours of Service (HOS) Experience managing DOT-regulated drivers Strong organizational, decision-making, and communication skills Commitment to safety, accountability, and customer service Valid driver's license with good driving record Proficiency in Excel, Word, and Outlook Ability to pass background check and drug screen PREFFERED Operations, fleet, logistics, transportation, or service management background Experience using ELDs Experience leading hourly teams COMPENSATION $50,000-$60,000 annually (base + performance) $40,000 base salary Performance commission + monthly bonuses (up to $300) Health insurance (BCBS), 401(k) with match (where available) 15 days PTO + holidays + sick time $25/month phone stipend Why This Role Bring your DOT and safety expertise to a growing operation where your leadership directly impacts team success and customer experience.
