Position: GNC Engineer Location: Chandler, AZ About the Role We are seeking a Guidance, Navigation, and Control (GNC) Engineer to design, develop, implement, verify, and test algorithms, software, and simulation tools for advanced aerospace and defense systems. In this role, you will support the full lifecycle of guidance and control development for aircraft, spacecraft, missiles, submersibles, surface vehicles, and launch platforms across powered flight, coast phases, orbit transitions, staging events, and more. Responsibilities • Design, develop, and test algorithms for guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) across a variety of aerospace systems. • Build and maintain 6DoF simulations to support missile and vehicle flight-code development. • Analyze missile flight dynamics and integrate autopilot and guidance algorithms into flight-software architectures. • Implement navigation functions including statistical processing of sensor measurements and substitution into physical-system models. • Develop guidance solutions to achieve precise positioning, orientation, or orbital objectives. • Create and refine control laws and associated software/hardware requirements for missiles, aircraft, launch vehicles, and spacecraft. • Evaluate system performance using modeling, simulation, and analytical methods. Basic Qualifications • Bachelor's degree with 5+ years of relevant experience, OR • Master's degree with 3+ years of relevant experience, OR • PhD with 1+ year of relevant experience, OR • 4+ additional years of professional experience may be considered in place of a degree. • Experience with missile guidance, navigation, and control (GNC) algorithms. • Hands-on experience with missile simulation and flight-dynamics modeling. Preferred Qualifications • Experience designing, tuning, implementing, and testing guidance algorithms and autopilot parameters for missiles or interceptors. • Strong foundation in control-systems theory and flight-dynamics analysis. • Proficiency in developing analysis and simulation tools using C++, MATLAB, and Python. • Experience developing in a Linux-based C++ environment.
